How we choose what's worth your action.
Action Alerts aggregates ways to act from trusted organizations working on women's health. Every alert is reviewed by the 51& team before it appears. Here's the standard we hold them to.
How we choose
We feature action alerts focused on the access, funding, and research side of women's health — where women across the political spectrum find common ground. We don't take positions on partisan issues.
What these alerts are — and aren't
Alerts are created by outside organizations — medical societies, research organizations, coalitions, and nonprofits — not by 51& (unless marked “51& Policy Desk”). Featuring an alert means it passed our review for relevance, source quality, and nonpartisan framing. It is not an endorsement of everything the source organization does or says, and action links take you to third-party sites we don't control.
Deadlines, details, and outcomes belong to the source organization; we remove alerts when their windows close, and we correct or remove listings promptly when asked.
Logos & attribution
When an organization submits an alert, it grants 51& permission to display its name alongside that listing, and confirms it's authorized to make the submission. We attribute every alert to its source organization by name; logos display only for featured partners. Any organization may request a correction or removal of its listing at any time — email hello@51and.com and we'll act promptly.
For organizations
If your work fits the standard above, we'd love to feature it — listing is free, and alerts are routed to the women most likely to act on them.
